DAISY – the name was inspired by the first computer synthesized song in an IBM 704 from Bell Lab back in 1961.


About the name “DAISY”
The name DAISY originated from the song “DAISY BELL” which was the first computer synthesized song in an IBM 704 from Bell lab back in 1961. We named our database and analytics platform after DAISY not only because of its historical connection, the wonders of nature it represents–flower, but also it means “Data and AI made eaSY”. We make solid foundation of a database infrastructure and workflows to allow reliable access and utility of big data, to unleash the power of scientific computing in making remarkable contributions to better health for both individuals and whole populations in the near future, just like how it transformed other industries in the past.
